“I’ve been a nurse for 32 years but towards the end of that time I started realising my own work-life balance wasn’t great,” she said. “It had impacted across many areas of my life so I started having complementary therapies myself and it made a huge difference. It was the spur I needed to change the life I was living.”
Andrea went to Manchester to study for Level 5 Clinical Reflexology Mastership at the Contemporary Reflexology College, over the course of a year. She has also studied with Dr Manzanares in London and specialises in women’s health.
Now she works with a whole array of clients, many of whom have the same symptoms she displayed, from the tranquility of her new premises at Sansaw.
“My philosophy for this business is complementing health naturally,” she says, exuding calm. “I’m not replacing conventional medicine but these therapies do have a lot to offer.”
Living in Shrewsbury and married with three grown-up daughters, Andrea also practices the Zone Face Lift pioneered by Ziggie Bergman, a therapist to the rich and famous.
“It’s a 100% natural facelift,” Andrea advocates. “Everything I use is completely natural. Having three daughters – 15, 21 and 26 – who I don’t want to resort to fillers or botox, there’s a real need for something which isn’t invasive and is a really powerful way of lifting your face and your spirits.”
Using quartz crystals and Jade Guasha tool to massage & sculpt the face, Andrea was personally trained by Ziggie and has already built up an enviable reputation in the county.
Although, she’s at pains to point out that it’s not just facelifts.
“Whilst I specialise in women’s health, I also see a number of male clients suffering from stress related issues to skin problems and also palliative care patients undergoing chemotherapy. I am happy to support clients with health issues of any age.”
The move into Sansaw’s stable office development is something of a facelift for the business, too.
“Barefoot Soul has been going three years but I was working from various locations & needed my own space. Moving here is a huge step but my clientele has grown significantly. In fact, I am leaving my part time job as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner next month to focus on my business full time.”
